What Are Fiberglass Pipes?

Oct 01, 2025 Leave a message

Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pipes are lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant non-metallic pipes.

They are made by winding glass fibers, with a resin matrix, layer by layer onto a rotating mandrel according to process requirements, with silica sand evenly distributed between the fibers as a reinforcing layer.

Their pipe wall structure is rationally designed and advanced, fully utilizing the material's properties. While meeting strength requirements, it improves rigidity, ensuring product stability and reliability.

FRP pipes with reinforcing sand are widely accepted by users due to their excellent chemical corrosion resistance, lightweight and high strength, non-scaling properties, strong seismic resistance, longer service life compared to ordinary steel pipes, lower overall cost, quick installation, and safety and reliability.

FRP pipes are used in the petroleum, chemical, and drainage industries. my country's FRP pipe production is developing rapidly, with the quantity increasing year by year, and the application scope and sectors becoming increasingly wider.

FRP pipes are made from resin (food-grade resin is used for drinking water), glass fiber, and silica sand using a special process.
