FRP pipes are widely used in marine projects, primarily in the following areas:

FRP marine aquiculture

Seawater transportation

For long-distance seawater intake, FRP pipes, with their corrosion resistance, smooth interior, and low fluid resistance, prevent corrosion-related leaks and ruptures, improving seawater transportation efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

Brine discharge and post-treatment

The large amounts of highly corrosive brine can be transported to designated discharge areas via FRP pipes. FRP pipes are resistant to corrosion and prevent leaks from contaminating the environment. Furthermore, during the transportation of desalinated freshwater to storage facilities or water supply systems, FRP pipes prevent secondary contamination of the water, ensuring water quality.

Seawater aquaculture engineering

All land-based Recirculating Aquaculture Systems, rearing centers, and nearshore cage operations depend on a steady supply of clean, high-volume seawater. With a corrosion-free composite structure and a smooth inner surface that helps limit fouling/biofilm buildup and reduces pumping losses, FRP/GRP systems are widely used for onshore intake headers and pump suction/discharge mains, while supporting stable flow.

Seabed pipes

For farms or coastal plants where the intake or discharge must cross the intertidal/subtidal zone, GRP/FRP pipelines are usually laid as buried submarine lines.​ Because GRP is lightweight vs. steel, it is well suited to barge-based pull or float-and-sink installation methods, and the pipe's superior corrosion resistance does away with the situation of coating breakdown or cathodic-protection.
